The State of Bliss
The Globe and Mail

by Mark Miller

Karin Plato calls in the cream of the Vancouver scene by threes and fours for The State of Bliss. Many another singer might be intimidated by such company but Plato stands

confidently shoulder to shoulder with the likes of alto saxophonist Campbell Ryga, trumpeter Brad Turner and fellow singer Denzal Sinclaire in this friendly program of

standards and originals. She's a cheerful and most musicianly vocalist, perhaps distantly of the Sheila Jordan school, but pleasantly without stylizations or affectations.
